Charles Demuth, who lived from 1883 to 1935, made a lasting impression on the arts community within Lancaster and throughout the world.

Performing arts are also highly popular in Lancaster, including the Fulton Theatre, PRiMA Theatre Company, OperaLancaster, and the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, which is in its 64th season and serves over 30,000 music enthusiasts annually. The city of Lancaster PA even has its own arts-related boutique hotel. The Lancaster Arts Hotel is filled with original works of art from many local artists within a converted historic tobacco warehouse. In addition, Lancaster boasts its very own art college. The Pennsylvania College of Art and Design is a four year professional art college, and produces many of the area’s finest artists.
